How to Contribute

We want you, yes you, to contribute. It doesn't matter what you think of your poetic skills: if you can count to seven, write in English, and know what a syllable is, you're more than capable.

(Please do not feel that you have to read the entire poem to contribute. Your contribution to the choka is more important than what other people have already said. And no, we're not being sarcastic. Raw word mass is the ruling king at Choka On It.)

Contributing is easy. All you need are two non-rhyming lines of 7 and 5 syllables of your own creation. And a username and password. Which means you’ll have to…

Create an Account. It’s free. It’s easy. Go here to get it done. (If you already have an account, simply login.)
Then go to This Week to post. Scroll down to the bottom of the screen to the Add a Couplet box.
Chokaonit.com will check your couplet and give you feedback on your syllable count — when you're happy with what you see simply press Post.

You can also post directly to the Choka from Twitter:

Create a free Twitter account.
Go to: http://twitter.com/choka and choose to "Follow" choka.
Post your couplets via Twitter (via Web or TXT) as Choka replies, leading always with "@choka" and separating your lines with a slash ("/"). Which means your couplets will look something like this:

@choka Web's fine filament are we / predator or prey?
Before too long they'll appear automagically within the couplet thread at Chokaonit.com.

If you don't already have a choka user account, just go ahead and post a couplet and Chokaonit.com will create an account for you.
